The US judicial branch oversees the US court system and is led by the US Supreme Court.  Through court cases the judicial branch explains the meaning of laws passed by the legislative branch and approved by the executive branch.

The US Supreme Court is the highest court in the country and consists of 9 judges that are appointed by the President and are subject to confirmation by the US Senate.
