Executive Branch
The executive branch of the United States includes the President, Department of Agriculture, Department of Commerce, Department of Defense, Department of Education, Department of Energy, Department of Health and Human Services, Department of Homeland Security, Department of Housing and Urban Development, Department of the Interior, Department of Justice, Department of Labor, State Department, Department of Transportation, Treasury Department and Department of Veterans Affairs. The executive branch administers and carries out the laws passed by the legislative branch and is headed by the President. The President has veto power over laws passed by the legislative branch.
